CESA 2 Regional Spelling Bee 2019
Sophia Liontas 5th grader from Star Center and Crete Slattery 8th grader from Lake Geneva Middle School (LGMS) were two of the 38 participants in the CESA 2 Regional competition on February 27 in Whitewater, Wisconsin.  

Sophia Liontas 5th grader from Star Center finished 28th going out on the word “contraband." 

Crete Slattery 8th grader from LGMS went through six rounds, spelling the word “obsequious” to clinch a spot as one of the three finalists to move on to the Badger State Spelling Bee in Madison on March 16, 2019.

CESA 2 Regional winners were:
Crete Slattery - Lake Geneva Jt 1 (#12)
Nina Pelli - Salem (#13)
Ava Dabek - Beloit Turner (#5)

Congratulations to both of Lake Geneva Schools' participants and special congratulations to Crete Slattery for moving on to the Badger State Spelling Bee!
