Lake Geneva Schools Receive Second Safety Grant

Lake Geneva Schools has been awarded a second Wisconsin Department of Justice School Safety Grant for $188,616.  In June, Lake Geneva Schools received their first grant of $110,192.

Lake Geneva Schools has already begun making safety upgrades with these additional funds, including:  increased surveillance, fortified entryways, visitor screening programs, treat and go medical kits for each classroom, additional threat assessment, mental health and trauma sensitive training for staff, FOB door entry systems, digital radio infrastructure for all buildings, and increased WAVE technology.

“School Safety is a top priority for us at Lake Geneva Schools.  As a Core Strategy in our Strategic Plan, we work every day to maintain an environment where students and staff feel physically, mentally and emotionally safe.  We have invested heavily in School Safety throughout the past several years and are extremely grateful for this grant money to further strengthen the safety in all of our schools”, James Gottinger, Superintendent, Lake Geneva Schools.
