Dear Lake Geneva Schools Families, Teachers and Staff,
Lake Geneva Schools and Badger High School in cooperation with the Lake Geneva Police Department have a suspect in custody for the written threat found in a restroom at Badger High School on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, that resulted in an early dismissal at Badger High School and the Lake Geneva Middle School. Please see below the official release from the Lake Geneva Police Department taken from their Facebook page regarding their investigation in this matter. The school district will take appropriate disciplinary action up to and including possible expulsion.
We are grateful for the diligence and effort that the Lake Geneva Police Department, the staff and administration at Badger High School put into this investigation. As mentioned in our last update, please have discussions with your students regarding this type of behavior and the impact that it has on the student body, staff, families and community that entrust that our school is a safe place. We will continue to keep school safety a strategic priority for all of our schools.

JUVENILE PLACED INTO CUSTODY FOR TERRORIST THREAT AT BADGER HIGH SCHOOL
Lake Geneva Police Chief, Michael S. Rasmussen, reports: On Thursday, November 29th, 2018 at approximately 2:30p.m., Detective Ecklund was conducting an investigation into a threat that was inscribed on a men’s bathroom stall at Badger High School on Tuesday, November 20th.
This threat caused disruption throughout the school district and resulted in classes being dismissed early and the evacuation of Badger High School and Lake Geneva Middle School.
During the investigation, a 15 year old juvenile admitted to inscribing the threat on the bathroom stall. The juvenile admitted the sole reason behind the inscription was to cause disruption so school would be dismissed early. The juvenile stated they did not intend to carry out an act of violence towards fellow students or school staff.
The juvenile was transported the City of Lake Geneva Police Department, booked and released to parents. The matter has been referred to juvenile intake.
