1.1.21 Update

Good Afternoon,

I sincerely hope all of you had the finest of Christmas breaks and our students are refreshed and ready to resume classes on Monday, January 4, 2021!

We all hope that 2021 will bring back a sense of normalcy to a year we (at least I) are glad to put in our rearview mirror. I pass on my best wishes to all our families for a happy, healthy and as normal as possible 2021.

With that, it is important to remember the things that we have done so far to keep our schools open and to continue those efforts. The wearing of masks in our schools and our emphasis on physical distancing and basic sanitation will continue as we return to school on January 4th. We have had a fairly good school year to this point and we will all have to be diligent in our efforts to continue to keep our schools open for the remainder of the school year. I thank you ahead of time for your cooperation.

It is especially important that you keep your student home from school if they are ill. If you question the symptoms or are unsure if it could be related to an alternative diagnosis; keep your student home until you have an answer from your medical provider.

Please remember the following CDC recommendations when returning to school on January 4th:

  • If your student has 2 or more COVID-19 symptoms, keep them home (10 days unless COVID-19 tested).
  • If anyone you have visited over break has a pending test; stay home until you know the results.
  • If anyone in your household has a pending test; the family must quarantine until results are in.
  • If anyone in your household or that the student/staff has been in close contact with over holiday break has tested positive; you must complete a quarantine based on the last time you had contact with them. We are following the CDC's guidelines for offering a 7 or 10 day quarantine option. Student-Athletes: Per the recommendation from the DHS & WIAA if your student is an athlete in a contact sport they cannot participate in practice/games before 14 days. The athlete may choose the 7 or 10 day option for return to learning while socially distancing in the building.

For more information, visit our COVID-19 Resource & Communication Center.

Once again, I sincerely hope all of you had the best of holidays. I am looking forward to continuing our efforts to provide the best education possible to the students of our community. We must all work together to give it our best effort for that to happen. Happy New Year!
