Free & Voluntary COVID-19 Testing Program

Dear Lake Geneva Schools Parents & Staff,

The COVID-19 pandemic brought uncertainty and stress for many of us; however, we understand the social-emotional health of our students is stronger when they can attend school in an environment with the least restrictive mitigation strategies possible. To help stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep our students learning in-person, Lake Geneva Schools now offers a free and voluntary COVID-19 Testing Program for students and staff of the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union (Badger) High School District and the Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District. Testing will help protect our students, staff, family members, and others who are at risk for getting seriously sick from COVID-19.

Through this program, we will be able to identify COVID-19 cases quickly and early, which can help us stop an outbreak before it happens. This will help us keep students in the classroom and able to take part in the school activities they love.

We are working with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services & Walworth County Public Health Department and are joining other school districts throughout the state that offer this program.

Other Important COVID-19 Notes from the District Health Office:

  • Please remember to complete the Daily COVID-19 Health Screening Checklist prior to sending your child to school each day.

  • If your child has been in close contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 or was diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, do NOT send your child to school.

  • Anyone experiencing symptoms of illness should stay home and report the absence with details to the school. If experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, they should also get tested for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status.

  • Anyone waiting for results of a pending COVID-19 test should stay home until results are in. If a parent or household member has a pending COVID-19 test, all unvaccinated individuals should also stay home until COVID-19 test results are in. Please ensure the test results are reported to the school office.

We are extremely grateful to our committed families and staff who continue to show great flexibility and resilience as we work together to contain the spread of this virus.

Sincerely,
Stefanie Keisler, RN
