Every day, I am proud to lead a team of dedicated and passionate administrators, teachers, and staff. These individuals are student focused and go above and beyond to ensure our students succeed.
As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, I would like to announce several changes to the Lake Geneva Schools leadership team. I am confident that these changes will help Lake Geneva Schools create and connect opportunities for excellence.
Director of Technology
I am excited to announce the hiring of Mr. James Adams as Director of Technology of Lake Geneva Schools, effective July 1, 2023.
Mr. Adams has over twenty-five years of experience in technology in the field of education. Prior to this position, he served as Director of Technology for the Randall Consolidated School District.
Mr. Adams was selected from a talented pool of candidates in a competitive process. Four candidates were interviewed in the first round. We invited three of them back for a second round of interviews, which included a panel interview, performance task interview, and school visits. Mr. Adams was selected because he brings an extensive information technology background to this position. His combination of skills, education, and experiences will move Lake Geneva Schools into new exciting areas of technology and create new learning opportunities for students.
Mr. Adams succeeds Mr. Dan Schmidt as Director of Technology. Mr. Schmidt announced his retirement in December following a thirty-two-year career at Lake Geneva Schools and thirty-four years in public education. I would like to thank Mr. Schmidt for his hard work and dedication to Lake Geneva Schools.
Curriculum & Instruction
I am thrilled to announce that Mrs. Erin Zigler joined the district leadership team as a Director of Curriculum & Instruction, effective July 1, 2023. As Directors of Curriculum & Instruction, Mrs. Zigler and Mrs. Chiper Tennessen will work together to move our districts forward and provide teachers with the resources and tools to enhance student learning.
Mrs. Zigler has twenty-four years of experience in education, with the last four years serving as Principal at Eastview Elementary School. She has been a vital part of Lake Geneva Schools for the last four years. She has proven herself to be an outstanding leader with a tremendous work ethic. In her previous role at Randall Consolidated Schools, she served as the Principal and Curriculum Director for six years.
Mrs. Zigler’s primary focus will be early childhood through eighth grade, and Mrs. Tennessen’s primary focus will be sixth-grade through twelfth grade. However, both will collaborate on early childhood through twelfth-grade initiatives.
As Directors of Curriculum & Instruction, Mrs. Tennessen, and Mrs. Zigler will, without a doubt, maintain the forward momentum we have as districts to continue improving our academic programs for all students.
Eastview Elementary Principal
I am pleased to announce that Mr. Grant Strobel has transitioned to Principal of Eastview Elementary School, effective July 1, 2023.
Mr. Strobel has been with Lake Geneva Schools for twenty-four years, serving as Co-Principal at Lake Geneva Middle School for the last seven years. He has an excellent reputation as a leader. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences to Eastview Elementary, and I look forward to watching Eastview students and staff flourish under his leadership. Along with Eastview Principal duties, Mr. Strobel will be a key leader in district-wide safety, our gifted and talented program, and other district-wide initiatives.
LGMS Assistant Principal
I am excited to announce that Mrs. Julie Milligan has been named Assistant Principal of Lake Geneva Middle School, effective July 1, 2023. Mrs. Milligan was selected from a very talented group of candidates.
Mrs. Milligan has 30 years of experience in education, with the last ten at Lake Geneva Schools. Prior to this role, she served as a School Counselor at Lake Geneva Middle School and the Coordinator for New Visions Charter School. Mrs. Millgan has her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Lawrence University, her Master's in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in School Counseling from UW-Milwaukee, and her Principal and Director of Instruction certification from Viterbo University.
She is very eager to continue supporting students, staff, and families as the Assistant Principal at Lake Geneva Middle School.
Badger High School Associate Principal
Mrs. Jenn Chironis was Acting/Interim Associate Principal at Badger High School for the majority of the 2022-2023 school year. I am happy to announce that Mrs. Chironis will continue working as Associate Principal of Badger High School for the 2023-2024 school year. She has been highly successful and is the ideal person for the position.
Mrs. Chironis has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership with a Principal Licensure from Concordia University. She has been a teacher at Badger for 11 years and has over 13 total years of experience in education. Mrs. Chironis was a head coach for the past 11 years, the department leader for Health, and has led professional development seminars at the local and state level.
I am confident that Ms. Jenny Straus, Mrs. Lisa Kendall, and Mrs. Jenn Chironis will continue to move Badger forward.
