The Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District is committed to supporting quality education programs. In 2018, a community need arose for a blended learning approach that challenged students to reach their full potential. As a result, the Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District joined with the Maple Park Charter School Governance Board and created a new and unique learning environment for students, which opened in September 2019.
The Maple Park Charter School (4K - 8th Grade) offers a blended learning approach. Each student's personalized learning plan is developed by the teacher on record, along with parent and student input.
Maple Park Charter School provides individual curriculum based on state-mandated standards. The program includes a menu of learning options that best fit the needs of the students (academic resources, hands-on materials, and virtual options). The curriculum will be chosen from a list of district-approved curriculums that provide for academic growth consistent with Wisconsin State Academic Standards. Our curriculum choices are paired with a licensed teacher that delivers the virtual instruction and a local educational guide that provides face-to-face support.
Maple Park Charter School provides individual support to all children and parents. This includes weekly check-ins with a licensed teacher. Our licensed teachers focus on: improving learning by planned instruction, diagnosing learning needs, prescribing content delivery through class activities, assessing learning, reporting outcomes to administration, parents and students, and evaluating the effects of instruction.
In order to ensure greater academic success and make physical connections with the Maple Park Charter School, parents are required to attend curriculum planning sessions with one of our licensed teachers.
At Maple Park Charter School, our teachers are dedicated to ensuring success. We believe a significant key to that success is communication. To ensure quality communication, we require that our teachers respond to inquiries from parents/guardians of pupils by the end of the first day following the day which the inquiry is received.
Our students have the opportunity to attend enhanced learning days. These enhanced learning days are offered on Tuesday (4K-5) or Thursday (Grades 6-8). Families may select one day to attend per week. Activities include gym, music, world cultures, art, literacy block and STEM.
