The Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union High School District is committed to supporting quality education programs. A Community need has arisen for a blended learning approach that will challenge students to reach their full potential. As a result, the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union High School District has joined with the New Visions Charter Governance Board and has formed a charter school to create a new and unique learning environment for students. Blended learning is used to leverage the best of both face-to-face learning and online learning, pursuing the goal of serving each student’s individual learning needs.
The New Visions Charter School offers a blended learning approach at our facility located at 220 E South St, Lake Geneva, WI 53147. Each student's personalized learning plan is developed by the teacher on record, along with parent and student input.
New Visions Charter School provides individual curriculum based on state-mandated standards. The program is a virtual program. The Virtual curriculum is supported by a Local Educational Guide (LEG) who provides face-to-face support. Students can also attend classes at Badger High School as part of their blended approach.
In order to ensure greater academic success and make physical connections with the New Visions Charter School, parents and students are required to attend curriculum planning sessions with the LEG and a counselor. Students are introduced to a four-year planning guide. This guide incorporates the Career Clusters into course selections. These tools, Courses of Study and Career Pathways, are ways for students to group their required courses and electives into coherent sequence in preparation for college or career. Utilizing the 16 Career Clusters, students can identify pathways from high school to two or four year colleges, graduate school, and/or directly to the workplace. By connecting education to future goals, students will be motivated to work harder and enroll in more rigorous courses.
All students taking Virtual classes will follow guidelines set forth by the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union High School and Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District Online Learning Options Handbook.
