3.13.20 COVID-19 UpdateFriday, March 13, 2020

Dear Lake Geneva Schools Families:

Currently, Lake Geneva Schools' facilities will remain open next week.  We are making decisions based on what is best for students and at this moment, with no imminent health threat in the area, it is best for students to maintain their routine. We further understand that these decisions can create hardships, particularly for working parents who do not have child care.

That said, based on how the situation has rapidly developed over the past 48 hours, we are preparing as though schools will be closed at some point in the future. Our decisions around whether to cancel school will be based on the guidance of health professionals as well as the impact to us locally.

As outlined in our March 12, 2020, COVID-19 Communication, if a school closure becomes necessary and it is longer than a few days (as directed by the Health Department), we intend to distribute necessary curricular materials to students and families digitally where possible. To prepare for this potentially happening, effective today, Friday, March 13, 2020, we are asking all students to bring essential materials and supplies home with them at the end of each school day. These items include Chromebooks, Course Materials/Supplies, etc.

Please continue to watch for updates via email as the situation evolves.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Dr. James Gottinger
Superintendent
