Facemask Reminder 2.2.21

Regardless of any state legislation that may change in the near future, the Lake Geneva Joint #1 School Board and the Badger School Board both reached a consensus in September 2020 to continue face coverings until further notice.

As a result, Lake Geneva Schools will continue to require that all students in grades 4K - 12 and all staff wear face coverings. Students in our 3-year-old Buzzing Bees Preschool program are encouraged to wear face coverings but not required.

We believe that continuing to require face coverings in addition to physical distancing has helped us to maintain a healthy school environment that has given us the ability to avoid outbreaks that would potentially close down our in-person instruction. Our students have been resilient, responsible, and respectful within this new COVID-19 reality. We are proud of them. Please encourage them to keep up the great work!

Please read the description following this note for specific details regarding Lake Geneva Schools - Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Requirement.

We sincerely appreciate the continued cooperation of our students, parents and staff as we progress through a very unusual 2020-2021 school year. We will continue our best efforts to maintain a healthy school environment to promote our ability to provide in-person educational opportunities for those that desire it. Thank you for your continued cooperation to achieve this goal.

Lake Geneva Schools - Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Requirement:

Lake Geneva Schools will continue to require that all students in grades 4K - 12 and all staff wear face coverings (face masks) until further notice. Students in our 3-year-old Buzzing Bees Preschool program are encouraged to wear face coverings but not required.

All staff and students are required to wear a face-covering at all times with the following exceptions:

  • While eating or drinking;

  • When communicating with an individual who is deaf or hard of hearing and communication cannot be achieved through other means;

  • Persons with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering.

    • If a student has a documented medical issue or special education designation which makes wearing a face-covering inadvisable, we will need to have a doctor’s note on file to excuse the student from wearing a face covering.

Face coverings should be positioned carefully over the mouth and nose.

Students are encouraged to bring their own face covering. If they do not have one, a mask will be provided for them.
